About the Artist Shasta Molnar, raised in Arizona, earned her bachelor of fine arts degree in Utah and moved to NYC with the goal of finding her passion. A talented actress and painter, Shasta loves to travel and meet new people and their pets.Shasta's inspiration is as simple as her subject matter. "I love dogs. They all have their own unique personality which makes what I do very fun and challenging. I don't want to just paint a picture, I want to capture a moment that tells a story about who they are." Shasta collects most of her material around NYC. "Tompkins Square Park is one of my favorite places to go. It's a great community and the park there is fairly large, dividing the smaller dogs up from the bigger ones. I really love the little dogs- they get so excited jumping on each other and racing around like little rockets! You can't help but smile and laugh- they're having so much fun." Commission a Painting Using Your Photos Step One If you would like to commission a portrait of your pet or someone else's, I need to start with excellent photos. For a full body portrait positioning is key. Typically photos with all four legs showing work best. Depending on the photograph that is chosen the shape and size of the canvas may vary. In this case the price of the painting may need to be adjusted. Step Two After a picture is chosen and a price agreed upon, I collect half of the payment. When the painting is finished, I will post a photo of the portrait on my website or send it directly to you for approval. If there are any adjustments that need to be made I am happy to make them for you. If there is ever an occasion where you are unsatisfied, I can paint a new portrait or happily refund your money. Step Three Upon receiving the remainder of the commission fee plus shipping costs which must include insurance coverage and a signature for drop off, I will ship your painting. This may cost any where from $20 to $60 dollars depending on what type of delivery you choose, ground, overnight or two day air.
